A message from our Me to We team:

As the population of New Tecumseth increases, so do the number of people who are under-housed.  In response, a local homeless shelter opened last winter for the winter months. The program is called "Out of the Cold" and is modeled after similar programs in cities across Canada.  Homelessness is not as visible here as in large urban centres, but there is a serious lack of affordable housing options. The Alliston Out of the Cold program provides safe, respectful and welcoming overnight accommodation and meals to those experiencing homelessness from November to April.

Tec South's Me to We Club has selected to support Out of the Cold as our local cause.  We will be collecting a specific item from each classroom for the entire month of November.  Each class has a hundreds chart posted on their classroom door.  Students will come by daily to collect items and mark the hundreds chart for your class.  As of November 30th, the class that collects the most will win a party with hot chocolate and sweet treats!

We will continue to do our holiday food drive in December.

Here are our collection items by class for the month of November:

Grade 8Juice box packages
Grade 6/7Jam
Grade 4/5Cereal
Grade 3/4Syrup
Grade 2Fruit cup packages
Grade SK/1Granola bar boxes
Grade JK/SKPancake mix

Thank you for all of your support.

The Me to We Team.
